Should you buy or lease?

While the decision on whether to lease or buy a car has a lot to do with your financing options, it is not the only factor to take into account before making a decision. Here are some of the pros and cons of leasing vs. buying.   SHOULD YOU BUY OR LEASE?   Whether you choose to buy or lease depends on your goals, budget, and preferences. Both have their benefits and the key to making a decision is understanding what benefits matter most to you.   Benefits of Leasing a Car   1. Lower monthly payments  You can consider leasing a car as if you are renting it for a fixed term. Typically, the cost of leasing a car is much lower than buying one. Little or no down payment is required and you don’t have to pay any upfront sales taxes. However, when it is the end of your lease, you may have extra charges for racking up mileage, terminating the lease early, or having any unrepaired damage.    2. Fewer repair expenses  If you are covered by a warranty during your lease term, you don’t have to worry about high, unexpected repair bills. However, it is still your responsibility to undergo regular maintenance.   3. No loan approval required If you have bad credit, were not approved for a car loan, or you were approved with a very high-interest rate, leasing companies are not as strict as lenders since they can take back the vehicle if you violate any lease terms.   Benefits of Buying a Car   1. Paying less over the long term Monthly lease payments are generally less expensive than monthly car loan payments. However, with each loan payment, you can build up equity for the future when you decide to sell it or trade it in. Buying a vehicle and selling it after a couple of years can be the cheapest way to own a car. Meaning if you sell it or trade it in, you will get back a lot of what you spent on buying the vehicle.    2. Have the option to sell it When you are a car owner, you can trade-in or sell your car (and pay off any existing loan balance) at any time. You are never locked into an ownership period like you are with a car lease.    3. No mileage limit When you own a car, you can use the car as much as you want and rack up as many miles as you need to. Leases put caps on the number of miles you can drive and charge a high fee if you exceed the limit.    Key Takeaways   If your main goal is long-term cost savings, then buying a used car should be your objective. It is the best way to save money in the long run. On the other hand, leasing a car is kind of like paying rent. While the car is yours for a time, it ultimately belongs to someone else. You are just borrowing it and you have no way of making money out of the vehicle in the future.    Lofi Motors is a Buy Here Pay Here Car dealership that specializes in providing quality used cars to individuals with good, bad, or no credit. Explore our inventory to find the right car for you.

We are facing unprecedented times. In the past few weeks, the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak has drastically set a new norm within our local communities where it is encouraged and necessary to spend more time at home and limit our interaction with others.    That being said, many of us had and still have plans to sell, trade-in and buy a new car. How can you make sure you can continue to go about your plans while also making sure you are safe and confined?   Are car dealerships still open?    While some dealerships are still open, many car dealerships have begun to momentarily close shop to reduce the risk of spreading the virus. That being said, many of these dealerships are still available to take calls and handle online inquiries from potential customers. The same way you might be working from home at the moment, car dealerships are also trying to adapt and conduct their business in a ‘social distancing’ approved way.  If you see a vehicle you are interested in within our inventory, don’t hesitate to give us a call or send us a text. During this period we are also very active on social media, so sending us a Facebook message also works. Our team is readily available to answer your inquiries and make sure your car shopping experience is one that is safe.  Regardless of the dealership you are looking to buy a car from, you shouldn’t hesitate to reach out to ask questions about the vehicle, the financing options and how you can go about buying the car without putting yourself at risk.  Is it safe to buy a used car?  To put it simply, YES. As long as you are buying your car from a trusted, well-reputed dealership, you shouldn’t worry about buying a used car. To get an idea of a dealership’s reputation, you should check their reviews and ratings online. The cars we sell on the lot have been thoroughly checked to ensure that they are in a good state and undergo a thorough cleaning process before being sold.  I recently bought a car on finance, what happens my financial situation changes?    If you find that your financial situation changes due to the effects of coronavirus on the economy, we’d advise contacting your finance provider immediately to see your available options.    At Lofi Motors, we offer financing options for customers with good and bad credit. Our goal is to make our customer’s customer shopping experience one that is easy and safe. Read our customer reviews to learn first-hand about the car shopping experience we offer.

Purchasing a Vehicle

You’re thinking about buying a used car but don’t know how to go about it? To help you with your car buying journey, we’ve assembled a few suggestions to guide you through the process.  Car Shopping for Beginners Before you start car shopping, you need to make a few decisions.  1. How much is your budget?  2. What type of car are you looking for?  3. Are you going to buy new or used? Suggestion 1: Set a Realistic Budget Before you start looking for your dream car, it’s important for you to take a good look at your financial situation and what you can afford. You don’t want to buy a car only to realize that you can’t afford it.  To make sure you don’t underestimate your budget, take into account not only your monthly car payments but also insurance costs, service fees, and fuel budget. Suggestion 2: Decide your Vehicle of Interest Make and Model  Don’t impulsively purchase any given car that is within your budget. You’re likely going to have this car for a couple of years. You want to make sure its a car you like and that you’ll find useful, depending on your day to day life.  Knowing what car make and model you are looking to buy also allows you to do some research before heading to the dealership. Spend some time looking at how much the car is selling for in the local market.  Suggestion 3: Buying Used is Smarter For those of you that are leaning toward buying used, we wholeheartedly agree that it is the smarter option. New car prices start off high and depreciate really fast, meaning you will lose a lot of its worth as soon as you drive it off the lot.  When buying a used car in good condition, you get more for your money because the car has already gone through its depreciation peak in the first couple of years.  Final Suggestion: Work with a Reputable Dealership  When looking for a used car, focus on trying to find a ‘newer’ used cars with lower mileage that is still in good condition. Many car shoppers are hesitant from buying a used car because of the fear that they might be taken advantage of regarding the car price and condition. However, if you know how to identify a reputable dealer, you minimize the risk of this happening.  Once you find the car you are interested in buying, the first thing you want to do is learn more about the dealership. 1. Check the dealership’s reviews on Google My Business and Facebook.  2. Visit their website, learn more about their financing options and offers.  3. If they have good ratings and look promising, give them a call and schedule a visit.  At Lofi Motors, we’re happy to say we check all the boxes. We offer financing options for customers with good and bad credit. Read our customer reviews to learn first-hand about the car shopping experience we offer.

You’re trying to start your car and it just won’t start. We’ve all been there. In most cases, the reason your car won't start is for a simple reason such as a dead battery. If you don’t have the time or the budget to purchase a new battery right away, jump-starting your car is a temporary solution to get you where you need to be.    Why did my battery engine die?   Here are a few reasons your battery engine may have died. - You left the headlights or interior lights on for a long period of time - Your battery is reaching its typical life expectancy and its time to buy a new one - The temperature is either extremely hot or cold. - There is a malfunction in your car’s charging system   Before you attempt to jump-start a battery, make sure your car is in Park or Neutral before getting started. Remember to take safety precautions so you do not run the risk of electrical shock. Really cold weather can freeze your battery so use caution when attempting to jump-start your car in these whether conditions. If you are unable to jump-start it successfully, you may need to have an experienced mechanic check it to determine what is wrong.    What do I need to jump-start my car?   - Another car with a good battery  - A jumper cable to connect them  - A pair of gloves - A pair of safety glasses    How do I jump-start my car?   1. Park both vehicles front end to front end, with some space between the two cars. 2. Make sure the vehicles are in Park or Neutral and shut off the ignition in both cars.  3. Pop the hoods of both cars open and make sure they are secure.  4. Take out your jumper cables. Attach one of the red clips to the positive terminal (+) of your battery. 5. Attach the other red clip to the positive terminal (+) of the car with the good battery.  6. Attach one of the black clips to the negative terminal (-) on the car with the good battery. 7. Attach the last black clip to an unpainted metal surface on your car that isn’t near the battery. 8. Start the working vehicle and let the engine run for a few minutes. 9. Try to start your vehicle.    If your vehicle won’t start, make sure that the cables are properly connected and wait a couple more minutes then try to start the car again. If it still won’t start, your battery may need to be replaced.  If the jump works and your car starts, don’t shut off your engine! Drive around for at least 20 minutes to recharge your battery. If the car won’t start the next time you use it, the battery isn’t holding a charge and needs to be replaced.   How should I remove the jumper cables from the vehicles?   Once you are done jump-starting your car, you should disconnect the jumper cables in this order:    1. Remove the negative cable from your car 2. Remove the negative cable from the car with the good battery. 3. Remove the positive cable from the car with the good battery. 4. What to check for before buying a used car?

Purchasing a Vehicle

Whether you are buying a used car from a private seller or a car dealership, it is important to know what to check for to make sure the car is in good condition.  What should you check for before buying a used car?  1. Vehicle History Running a VIN search on CarFax or AutoCheck is a great way to learn more about the history of the car. What is a VIN Number? A VIN, or a Vehicle Identification Number, is assigned to a car by the automaker and reveals information about the car such as the model year, country of origin, serial number, airbag type, engine size and where it was assembled.  How can I find my VIN number?  A car’s VIN number is usually found on the front of the dashboard of the car or the driver’s side door pillar. If you don’t find it there, you can also check the car’s insurance card or the vehicle title and registration.  2. Under the Hood The engine is the most important part of a vehicle and is a great way to determine the state the car is in. Make sure you check the oil and transmission dipsticks for discoloration. It is also important to check for fluid leaks, corrosion or cracked hoses and belts. If you do not have any understanding of car engines, it might be useful to have a mechanic check the car on your behalf.  3. Tire Conditions When checking the tires, the tread should be worn evenly and every tire should match. An uneven tread or extra wear on a few tires could be a result of steering or suspension issues. A car that is poorly aligned will slightly drift to the right or left when driving. 4. Mileage An average car will incur around 12,000 miles each year. In order to figure out if a car has high or low mileage, you can simply divide the total miles incurred by the vehicle’s age. A car with high mileage has a higher risk of wear and tear on its mechanical components.  5. Interiors Take a moment to check the inside of the car. Check to see if the stereo, AC, and heat is working. Try opening and closing the windows. Check the car locks. Make sure everything is as it should be. While they’re not typically the first concerns you have when buying a car, they certainly make a difference in the everyday use of the car.  6. Test-Drive Make sure to take the moment to test the car. Take it out for a ride to test its maneuverability, acceleration, braking, and suspension. If possible, try taking it on the highway and try to parallel park it. Make sure you feel comfortable behind the steering wheel.    Lofi Motors is a Buy Here Pay Here Car dealership that is specialized in providing quality used cars to individuals with good, bad, or no credit. Advantages of Buying a Used Car from a Car Dealership

Purchasing a Vehicle

If you’re thinking about buying a used car, then you’re probably debating between buying from a car dealership or from a private seller.  As individuals that purchase and sell cars day in and day out, we’d like to lay out a few reasons why it’s smarter and safer to buy directly from a car dealership.  Less Risk, Higher Quality If you’re buying a car directly from a private seller, your sole source of information is that seller. It is hard to know the true history of the vehicle as the individual might avoid mentioning certain details about the vehicle’s condition and maintenance history. The seller's sole goal is making the sale.  However, when buying a used vehicle from a car dealership, you can be certain that you’re purchasing an automobile that has already met the standards of individuals that are specialized in vehicles. Additionally, the car dealership is obligated to share all relevant information about the vehicle you’d like to purchase.  On top of that, a car dealership is much more concerned with its reputation in the community. Car dealers work hard to establish a respected, well-recognized name. They won't risk ruining their reputation for the sake of one car sale. Your experience is much more important to them than it will ever be to a private seller. Dealerships want to sell to you a first, second and third time. They want you to recommend them to your family, friends, and neighbors.  Wide Selection of Financing Options Unlike private sellers, car dealerships provide low down payments on cars and a wide selection of financing plans. As a buy here, pay here dealership that offers 100% credit approval regardless of past credit history, our customers enjoy the flexibility of purchasing a vehicle without the strain of needing to pay all at once. It also offers then an opportunity to improve their credit score by making timely payments.  Extra Options & Benefits  Buying from a car dealership provides customers with options and benefits a private seller can’t offer such as the ability to trade in their existing vehicle. Another example of a benefit that our customers love is our referral program. Customers that buy from our dealership have the ability to refer their friends and family in return of a $150 credit to their loan with us. If a customer is able to refer 5 buyers to Lofi Motors, they receive the title to their vehicle and a paid-out receipt from our dealership.  Our Take If you're considering buying a used car soon, we recommend you opt for the safe option of buying from an experienced and well-reputed car dealership. Checking a car dealership's website and ratings by past customers on Facebook and Google can be helpful in choosing which dealership to work with.
